ShareMyCard ("we", "our", or "us") operates the ShareMyCard service at sharemycard.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information: email address and password (stored hashed)
• Business card content: name, job title, company, phone number, email, website, social media handles, and profile photo
• Usage data: how often your card is viewed or saved to Wallet

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and maintain your account and digital business card
• Generate Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes for distribution
• Display your public profile page when your card link is shared
• Provide analytics on card views and installs
• Send transactional emails (password reset, email verification)
• Maintain the security and integrity of our service

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• Public profile: The business card content you enter is displayed publicly at your profile URL and embedded in your Wallet pass. Only share information you are comfortable making public.
• Service providers: We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting and storage. Your data is stored in AWS data centres in the United States.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Card view analytics older than 90 days are automatically deleted.

You may delete your account at any time from the Account Settings page. Deletion permanently removes your personal information — name, contact details, photos, logos, social links, and messages — from our systems, and your public card page stops working immediately. Copies of your card already saved to other people's wallets receive a final update that marks them expired and strips your personal information; because wallet platforms do not permit remotely deleting a pass from someone else's device, the expired, emptied card may remain on their device until they remove it. We retain a minimal anonymized technical record (containing no personal information) solely so saved passes can continue to receive that expired state. Encrypted database backups containing your data are retained for up to 30 days before automatic deletion.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted HTTPS connections, hashed passwords (bcrypt), short-lived access tokens, and regular encrypted database backups. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, however we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to store your authentication session on your device. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access and update your account information at any time via Account Settings
• Delete your account and all associated data via Account Settings
• Contact us with questions or requests regarding your data

8. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
